Japan - 2022 Osaka Hakone Tokyo 12 Days Itinerary (Day 4 Osaka to Hakone)

 Day 4 Osaka to Hakone

After 3 nights at Osaka, it is time to say good bye. Ostay Shin-Osaka Hotel is very easy to check out, all you need is to pack your luggage and get out of the room on time. There is no procedure required, quick and simple.

Next, our destination is Hakone. We took Hikari Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka to Odawara station. You should go to JR Ticketing Office at Shin-Osaka and make a seat reservation to your destination before you take Shinkansen.

The trip took around 2 hours, and along the way, you may catch a good view of Mt. Fuji. The cover photo and the photo below are picture which I had taken during the Shinkansen ride.

We reached Odawara around 14:38 and we are hungry. So, we decided to have our lunch at Hakone Bakery at the station. The food are just so-so.

As we are staying at Hotel Green Plaza around Ubako, we need to take around 45 minutes bus ride to the hotel.

The bus station is around Odawara Station.

You could pay cash and you will pay when you alight.

Beware - this is a Daytona bus - the bus driver drive along the curvy road with great speed.

We reached the bus stop outside the hotel around 5pm and we need to walk around 5 minutes with our luggage to the hotel.

And to our present (or rather horror) surprise, there is only 1 restaurant at the hotel and you requires to book the dinner in advance. 

Anyway, we get our room key and the room size is rather big.

As the hotel staff refused to help us in any way, so, our first night dinner is instant noodle which we managed to buy from the gift shop before it closes at 8pm. Why didn't we eat outside of the hotel? Because, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. If you do not drive, you could not get out at night.
